2 years

2 years have passed since then.
We go back to normal life,
but the reconstruction of  Tohoku is not progress.

I did volunteer work again, at the former Kisai high-school.
The number of people who took refuge from Fukushima
has decreased significantly in the last 1 year.
There are no children, but a few elderly person still live
in the school building.

They smile.
But I feel the mood of resignation behind their smile
that they can never get back to normal life.
They are too tired and too old
to have a hope, even a slight one.

The government shatered their hope saying that
the nuclear power plants will be in re-operation
to try to revive the Japanese economy.

What is the reconstruction?
Who must they really protect?

The governers should think of it standing before
the Fukushima nuclear power plants.

My angry and sadness can change nothing,
but I believe that some people around the world
read this, feel somthing,
and do not forget our Fukushima.

Trip to Iwate Part1~ Morioka City ~ Kenji Miyazawa

Trip to Iwate
11.5~7.2012

Mt.Iwate

Arrived at Morioka.
This city is known for its associations with Miyazawa Kenji.
The monument of his work " Gaushe the Cellist ".
There are other monuments on a street in this city.
He is one of my favorite writers.

His famous poem "I will not give in to the rain"
(Ame ni mo Makezu)

"I will not give in to the rain.
I will not give in to the wind.
I will have a healthy body
that won't give in to the snow
or to summer's heat.
I will not have a desire.
I will not get angry.
I will always be smiling quietly.
..........

In everything,
I will not count myself.
I will look, listen and understand well,
and I won't forget.
..........

When there is a drought,
I will shed tears,
When the summer is cold,
I will walk around helplessly.

I will be called useless by everyone.
I will not be praised or thought a pain.

This is the person
I want to be."

"This is a poem that most Japanese people know by heart,
and has given them courage
through many terrible periods of adversity,
like those now afflicting the Tohoku region."

1月 January

Hello.
I'm sorry to have kept you waiting.
My PC didn't work well and I couldn't write new blog.

How is your new year?
Enjoy? Good.

I want to tell you many things about my trip to Iwate
and volunteer work at Kisai high-school.
Someday I will. Maybe...sorry.

Have a wonderful and fruitful year!
See you soon.

P.S.  I will brush up my English.

Re-paint

How do you do?
Long time no see.

***

The season changed to autumn and I heard that
it has been already cold in Fukushima.
The time has passed and we have 2nd fall from the disaster.

pictured by my mother

A burnet which my mother loves.
And this picture was also took by her.

My father.
He drops rust on the tin
over a straw-thatched roof to re-paint it.

We said that we'd better to ask to a contracter
because it's very dangerous working on the top of the roof.
But he does it by himself.
Maybe it's his pride that he worked at a construction industry
before his retire.

Now this step dropping a rust was done
and my father re-paints the roof.
The colour is deep green mother chose.

Whole aspect.
I'm sorry it's very difficult to see this pic.
Please take care not to be hurt your neck.

Finally the count number gets to 1000!!
Thank you sooooo much, everyone.
I'm really glad and think that
this blog has to be kept going.
Yes, I will keep writing about
Fukushima, of course, and my opinion
what I feel in my daily life.

I don't know where you are in this world.
But you always check this blog somewhere around the world.
So, I write.

Big big thanks to you all!!
(to read my funny english! haha!)

Never give up.
