気がつけばもう９月。
でもまだまだ今年の福島での夏をお伝えします。
It has already been september.
But I'm still telling you about this summer in Fukushima.
これは家の近くにあるダム湖。
あまり良い写真が撮れず残念ですが、
大きくてビオトープもあって、
山に囲まれたとても素晴らしい景色です。
夏休み中にはカヌー教室もやっていました。
ダムの周りは遊歩道になっているので、
紅葉の時期がきたら歩いてみようと思っています。
This is a dam lake near our house.
I'm sorry that I couldn't take a good picture of it,
but this place is really wide and has a biotope area
so we can see a beautiful view surrounded by mountains.
I saw the canoe class opening on this lake in summer vacation.
There are a nature trail so I will walk along there
when the season of autum colors comes.
これも家の近くにある、お気に入りの大きな木。
広い空に大きな木。
まさに、この木なんの木、気になる木。
車を運転しながら見上げる木。
This tree is also near our house and one of my favorites.
Large sky and big tree.
I always look up this as driving.
山を越え・・・
Go over the mountains...
下っていくと・・・
and go down...
少しずつ道がひらけてきて・・・
The view spread out and...
こんな景色になります。
...change like this.
道路脇にものすごく立派なノウゼンカズラらしきもの。
I'm not sure but it seems Chinese trumpet-creeper.
大好きなこれをいただきに山を下りてきました。
いつもはたくさんいるお客さんも、この日は私たちだけ。
夏休みのせいなのか、原発のせいなのか・・・。
原発のせいなら許せない。
でもお店が震災後もこうして続いていることが、
とても嬉しかった。
I went down the mountains to eat this.
I really love this lunch menu.
Though there are always many customers in this restaurant,
no one was here except us this day.
Which is the real reason, summer vacation or the nuclear power plant accident.
If it is the latter, I'll never forgive it.
But it's a relief for me that the restaurant opens
after the Fukushima disaster.
おまけでかぼちゃのケーキもいただいた。
福島にはおいしいものがたくさんある。
I ate the pumpkin cake, too.
There are many delicious foods in Fukushima.
家に帰って、恒例のかつおのたたき作り。
After went home, the annual cooking, chopped raw bonito.
今回は畑で藁を燃やし・・・
Burned some straws in the field this time...
その火でカツオを炙ります。
...roasted the bonito.
本当においしいんだから。
It was REALLY delicious.
そしてまた恒例の七輪焼き。
ステーキ用のお肉をもりもり食べた。
塩、わさび醤油、にんにく醤油。
食べ続けたいくらいおいしかった!!
And another annual meal, Shichirin-yaki.
("an earthenware stove using charcoal")
We ate many steaks cut for bite size.
With solt, wasabi-shoyu, garlic-shoyu.
I wanted to keep eating this!!
でももちろんお野菜もいただきます。
焼きもろこし。最高です。
But, of course, I ate some vegitables.
Yakimorokoshi (grilled corn).
Excellent.
そしてアスパラににんにく、いんげんも。
And more, asparagus, garlics, and green beans.
残り火で、姉がラタトゥイユを作ってくれました。
My sister made ratatouille using the embers.
デザートは桃とブルーベリー。
どちらも福島の特産です。
来年もまた、楽しみ。
The desserts were peach and blue berries.
Both are specialties of Fukushima.
I'm looking forward to see them next year, too.
パンもたくさん焼きました。
I bake many many breads.
定番の丸パン。
プレーンとレーズンクルミ入り。
Standard bread, Marupan.
Plain and raisins & walnuts.
この生地も我が家では定番のあるものです。
And this dough is also standard one in my family.
ころころのばして…のばしてのばして…
Extend and make it larger.....
シナモンと砂糖、胡桃にレーズン…
Cinnamon powder, sugar, walnuts and raisins.....
くるくるくるくる巻きまして…
...roll up the dough and...
この形に成形…ときたら?!

!!!
はいシナモンロールでした～。
Cinnamon rolls, yes.
お昼に食べたり…
Eat them for lunch...
コーヒーブレイクのお共にしたり。
and coffee break.
広大な自然の中でおいしいものをいただく。
なんとも贅沢な夏の日々。
Eat many delicious foods in the vast nature.
How luxurious summer days I had!
次に来るときは秋の景色になっていることだろうな。
紅葉した山を見ながら暮らせる贅沢を、
また満喫しにやってこよう。
The view from the house will change to autum colors
when I come back here next time.
I'll come back to enjoy the life of luxury
with the beautiful scenery of
mountains turned red.
さようなら、福島の夏空。
Good bye, summer blue sky, Fukushima.
原発にも負けない、元気な福島の人々、自然。
縁がなければ知ることのなかった、いろんなこと。
知ることができたからこそ、考えることもたくさんあった。
それが私をまたひとつ、またひとつと成長させてくれた。
苦しいことも、悲しいことも、
経験して人は優しく、強くなれると改めて思う。
The cheerful people and strong nature,
never overcome with the nuclear power plant problems.
Various things that I never knew if I have no connection to there.
There were many things I have to think about,
becouse I know that.
And THAT let me grow up little by little.
Pain and sadness.
We can be kind and strong by the experiences.
I thought so, again.

Sky of Fukushima.
埼玉の空。
同じ空なのにまるで違う。
暑くてエルモもバテています。
Sky of Saitama.
It must be same sky but different really.
Also Elmo appeared to be tired from the heat.
