４月・福島 Fukushima in April

もう２ヶ月も経ってしまいましたが、

春に見てきた福島の家を

また少しずつお伝えしようと思います。

Though it already has passed 2months from my visit to Fukushima,

I will tell you about that.

４月中旬とは言えども、まだまだ寒かった福島。

それでも春は来て、畑にはたんぽぽやつくしがたくさん出ていました。

佃煮にしようとつくしをたくさん摘んだのは覚えているのですが、

それを佃煮にした記憶がありません・・・。

It was very cold, but spring plants,

like dandelions and horsetails,

had been grown already.

I picked many horsetails with my sister to boil down

in sweetened soy to eat.

But forgot to cook them.

私が欲しかったルバーブ、父が育ててくれています。

５月に花が咲いたようですが、それまでに１年かかり、

食べられるまでさらに１年ほどかかるそうです。

Dad has growing rhubarb my favorite.

The flowers bloomed in May.

It takes a year to bloom and one more year to eat.

これは三つ葉。

こんな所に三つ葉。

なんとも父らしい。

This is honewort.

In such a funny place.

Oh, dad....

そして今年も梅の花。

６月になった今はもう、実がなっているとか。

今年はどれだけ梅干ができるか楽しみです。

いつも手伝わずにごめんなさい、父さん母さん。

おいしい梅干をありがとう。

And Ume.

Now in June, they have already fruited.

I'm really looking forward to see how they set well.
