福島の庭 The yard

 

６月２６日、福島にやってきた。

これは家の前の田んぼの写真。緑豊かで美しいです。

これぞ日本の良き風景、心が癒されます。

June, 26. I went to Fukushima.

This is a picture of Tanbo ( rice field ) I took in front of my parents' home.

             It's a beautiful green sight.

 THIS is the good view of countryside in Japan and it heals our hearts.

庭からの眺め。今年は見ることができたシャラノキ（夏椿）の花。

こうした白くて柔らかく、花弁の大きな花、大好きです。トルコキキョウとか。

写真の下半分に見えるのが父の畑。
敷地の三分の一は、「おまえたちで何か植えな」と残してくれている。

This is a view from the yard.
The flower is Sharanoki ( or Natzutzubaki in Japanese,

Japanese pseudocamellia in English). Finally, I could see them this time.

I love white, soft, and big flowers like them or Russell prairie gentian.

You can see my father's field at the bottom of this picture.

He said "you plant something",
 and set the one third of this site aside for my sister and me.

こちらはユスラウメ。

さくらんぼアレルギーのある私は残念ながら怖くて食べられないけれど、

さくらんぼに似た味がするらしい。

朝食のヨーグルトに入っているのを見て楽しんで、

あとは誰かにあげています。

果物好きなのに、他にもアレルギーがちょいちょいある私。

This is downy cherryies.

I'm afraid of eating them because of my cherry allergy,

but I heard that their tastes are like cherry.

I always enjoy to see them in yogurt for breakfast,

and then I give them to someone of my family.

Though I love fruits, I'm allergic to some fruits.

創られたばかりの花壇。

ハーブでたくさんにする予定だとか。

すでに植わっているのはローズマリー。

冬を越したから強くなったかな。

裏庭から切ってきた木を、父がうまいこと配置してくれた。

これからが楽しみ。

The new flower bed.

It will be filled with herbs.

That is Rosemary that been planted already.

It got through the last winter, so it might be strong to grow.

Dad set the trees very well, that he cut down in the back yard.

I'm really looking forward how the flower bed will change.
